Why I use eBay Mobile to Sell

There has been a lot of talk around the eBay community that an “expert” said that those listing on eBay and that are crazy about it are really not selling with mobile and are being paid by eBay to promote Mobile.  WRONG!!!!!  I use the eBay Mobile app for IPhone and IPad and list 100% on mobile.   I have some older listings that still need cleaned up as I move ahead to be mobile friendly. I have been using mobile totally since 2010 right after I attended eBay on Location.

eBay is promoting mobile because it is the future. (expert says it is to keep the shareholders happy).  Young adults, grandmas, mother’s on the go, business people  all use it.   Get on the train and let’s go.

Why Optimize for Mobile?
Why Optimize for Mobile?

Getting your listings ready for mobile.
Getting your listings ready for mobile.

To get rid of some of the falsehoods by this expert.

You can use HTML in mobile with no problem.

You can use bullets in mobile with no problem. Why would you?  Google Shopping does not allow it!

I do not get paid a dime to endorse eBay Mobile. I use mobile because it makes me money.

Why I am leaving Amazon As A Seller

I have finally had it with Amazon.  Why would I sell on a site when my biggest competitor is Amazon itself.  I had a great line of out of print books that I bought from a company in Salt Lake.  They had 500 left. I was a bit worried I would not be able to sell all 500 so I only purchased 100.  I listed 50 on eBay and 50 on Amazon.  They were selling quickly on both platforms.  A month later I called the owner and asked if I could buy the other 400. He said Cindy you are about four days late.  Amazon has purchased all of them.  Amazon saw my numbers, saw I was selling a lot of them and found the company and bought them all and then lowered the price by $5.00 each and put it in Prime for Amazon Buyers.   I lost all those sales.   I had pretty much had it but started doing numbers on my cost to sell on Amazon and eBay. Shocking.  I will write about that this weekend.   Some more sneaky things coming from Amazon with payments being added to stores online. Do you really think that taking Amazon Payments will be beneficial? I think Amazon is only phishing for your customers info and will send Amazon links and try to get those sales off your site.

Cleaning Cross Stitch & Stamped Embroidery

Cleaning Cross Stitch and Stamped Cross Stitch: Needlepoint and Crewel is a different technique:

1. Fill up a sink or cake pan with coldish water and some dawn dish soap. I really really prefer Dawn over anything else. Take the needlework and move it up and down, up and down in the water. You will start to see the water get dirty. If it is really dirty do this twice. Do it a few times. I tend to really go up and down many many times. Then fill the cake pan or the sink with cold water and do the same thing for rinsing. I always say I want it rinsed so well I would drink the water so it might take a few times to get the residue out. ROLL and Do not Wring. After you roll it, then take you fingers of one hand, holding with the other hand, and use the fingers to get out excess water. So for me hold in right hand and use the two fingers closest to the thumb and put the rolled fabric between those two fingers and move down… it will get the water out. Lay out and let dry for awhile then iron with a piece of fabric (preferably white). I use a cotton dish towel that no one in the house touches. I put one towel down, then the project design work face down, then another towel and iron.

Love eBay but don’t have a PayPal Account .. No Problem

Are you aware you don’t need a PayPal account to buy on eBay?  You can use your credit card safely and even store your info on the site safely if you want to for future purchases.
